Ms. Asna Ali earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University and her Master in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.  She began her career in education in 2009 and joined Stephens Elementary in 2015.  Ms. Ali taught kindergarten and third grade and is currently the Dyslexia Specialist at Stephens Elementary.

Ms. Ali enjoys spending time with her nephew and niece as quality family time is very important to her.  She also enjoys listening to all types of music, dancing, and trying new foods. She loves to travel as well and explore new places and cultures.  She loves children's books and one of her favorites is
Frindle by Andrew Clements.

Diane Andrews - Testing CoordinatorEmail.png


Mrs. Diane Andrews is originally from Midland, Texas.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Education with a specialization in Music from Texas Tech University.  She began her career in education in 1986 and joined Stephens Elementary in 1990.  Mrs. Andrews has taught grades 1 through 6 before attaining various position which include Coordinator for Success For All, Title 1 Coordinator, Skills Specialist, Dyslexia Specialist, and is currently the Academic Assessment Specialist at Stephens Elementary.

Mrs. Andrews’ hobbies include singing, reading, and musical theater.  She also enjoys traveling to historical places.  Her favorite books are Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman, Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry, and anything by James Patterson. 

Christi Chandler - Math Skills Specialist Email.png


Ms. Christi Chandler earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master of Education from Sam Houston State University.  She began her career in education in 1989 at Stephens Elementary where she taught third grade, was a Reading Skills Specialist, and is now currently the Math Skills Specialist.

Ms. Chandler enjoys traveling, shopping, scrapbooking, and is curious about other cultures.  Her favorite books are  Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Where the Red Fern Grows by William Rawls.

Heather Hamilton - ELA Skills Specialist 


Mrs. Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance with a Secondary Teaching Certification. She also earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Masters in Education and Curriculum and Instruction. She has been working in education for nine years.

Mrs. Hamilton has taught every grade from  4-12 in either reading/writing, social studies, dance, or PE.  She has worked in Santa Fe ISD, Brazosport ISD, Houston ISD, and of course Aldine ISD.  She  was named the Fine Arts Teacher of the Year for the 2010-2011 school year.  She was the  Fine Arts Dept Chair in 2011-2012 and 4th Grade Team Lead in 2012-2013.  She has her Principal's certification.  She was awarded a Donors Choose grant in 2014-2015 to build her classroom library.  In 2011 she worked with Teach for America to mentor incoming teachers. Mrs. Hamilton is currently the ELA Skills Specialist at Stephens Elementary.

Mrs. Hamilton enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and cooking. She also loves to travel and learn new things. Mrs. Hamilton is interested in growing in her role as an educator. She is also curious about the world and wants to experience new places.  Some of her favorite books include The 39 Clues Series and she is currently working her way through it. Her favorite books from her childhood were The Baby Sitters Club book series by Ann M. Martin.

Dyana Quiñones - SLA Skills Specialist Email.png


Ms. Quiñones is starting her first year at Stephens. She is from San Juan del Río, Querétaro/ México. She has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business and Accounting from University of Houston-Downtown, a Master of Business Administration with a minor in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, and a Master in Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.  She began her career in education in 2009 where she has taught bilingual first, fourth, and second grades. She has taught in HISD and Manor ISD  before coming to Aldine in 2015.

She enjoys running, traveling, and photography.   Not only does she enjoy teaching elementary but also future teachers.  She teaches a night course at UHD that centers around bilingual and ESL theories.  She is curious about bilingualism and second-language acquisition theories. She loves studying the different ways children acquire language. The research is still very limited, but she loves reading how children view and overcome language barriers.  Some of her favorite books include Hunger Games trilogy, Where the Wild Things Are, and also loves reading research articles on ELLs.

Michelle Faught - Information Literacy Specialist


Ms. Faught is from Sullivan, Indiana. She has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana State University and a Masters of Library Science from Sam Houston State University

She began her teaching career right here at Stephens Elementary in 1992. She has taught 4th grade for one year and then taught 3rd grade for two more years.  In the fall of 1994, she became the librarian -- now called information literacy specialist --  and she has remained in this wonderful position ever since!!!

Ms. Faught enjoys reading, traveling, singing in her church choir, and spending time with friends and family.  She is curious about the differences in cultures -- both here in the United States and in other countries.  In her travels, she always wonders about customs and traditions that make each place in the world so unique!

Ms. Faught has two favorite books for children: The Relatives Came by Karen Ackerman and Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo.  It is hard for her to choose a favorite adult book since she reads a wide variety of genres, but one she has loved in the past few years is The Big Stone Gap series by Adriana Trigianni.
