Mrs. Brenda Knox earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia ( SUNY ) and later a Master Degree in Administration from the University of Houston.
Mrs. Knox has been in education for 40 years. She began her career in education in 1975 to 1977 in New York. She then came to Texas to continue her career in education. During her career Mrs. Knox has taught grades 1-5, worked as a skills specialist, computer technologist, and as an assistant principal.
Mrs. Knox enjoys sewing, smocking, reading, and traveling with her husband and grandchildren. She is curious about human behavior and how the brain works. One of Mrs. Knox favorite books is The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary.
Mrs. Margarita Giglio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at the University of Houston Downtown. She began her career in education in 2013 and joined the Stephens Elementary team in 2015.
Mrs. Giglio enjoys photography and drawing. She is curious about different languages and developing technology. Some of her favorite books include the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling, Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick, and The Invention of Hugo Cabret also by Brian Selznick.
Ms. Margarita Ramos-Vélez earned a Bachelor of Arts in History Education-Secondary Level from the University of Puerto Rico. She also earned a Master of Arts in History of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean from el Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe. She received her Alternative Certification in Bilingual Education EC-6 from Region 4.
Ms. Ramos has been teaching for 11 years which include 9 years teaching Puerto Rican History, American History, Sociology, Geography, Electoral Process in middle and high school in Puerto Rico, and 2 years teaching Bilingual students. Ms. Ramos also spent 2 years of supervising an adult alphabetization program in my hometown. She taught 2nd grade in a Dual Language program in New Caney ISD, before I joining Stephens Elementary to teach 4th grade ELAR.
Ms. Ramos enjoys playing the guitar, writing songs, painting, and watching movies. She is curious about cultural diversity and history in general. Her favorite book is the Bible.
Ms. Ashley Fyke earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Houston- Victoria in 2014. While having completed her education in Texas Ms. Fyke is original from Michigan. Her family moved to Texas in 2005 and certainly do not miss the snow. Since graduating from college she has worked with students from PreK all the way to eight grade at St. Philip the Apostle School in El Campo. Ms. Fyke’s united with the Stephens Elementary team in 2016.
Ms. Fyke enjoys painting, photography, reading, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her favorite past time is refurbishing furniture. It is exciting to bring new life to old piece that someone has tossed aside or can no longer use. The love of her life is her dog Sadie. She is a Black Lab mix that Ms. Fyke rescued from Highway 59 a few days after Christmas in 2015. When Ms. Fyke takes the time to read she often rereads her favorite books. Some of her childhood favorites include the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish, and anything by Beverly Cleary.
Ms. Monica Martinez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in English at the University of Texas at Austin. She began her career in education by joining the Stephens Elementary team in 2016.
Ms. Martinez enjoys reading, watching films, and wandering through art museums. She is curious about the study of culture as well as its relationship to elementary education. Some of her favorite books include the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz.

Mrs. Stephanie Ruiz Malone earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development EC-6 Bilingual from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her career in education in 2011. This is Mrs. Malone's first year at Stephens Elementary.
Mrs. Malone enjoys reading books, drawing, doing arts and crafts, and watching movies. She always wondered what it would be like to teach at the same elementary school she attended and now it has become a reality. She appreciates the hard work Stephens teachers and staff give every single school day now more than ever before in her life. She certainly enjoyed her experience as a Stephens scholar and now she can say that she was able to become a Stephens teacher.
